The bulk of early Nepali migrant workers were lahures who joined the army of Seikh ruler Ranjit Singh following the battle at Kangra in 1809.The Punjabi army was integrated into the Indian Army after the British annexation of Punjab in 1849. The TEVT Sector F-SKILL's Contribution

The major TEVT providers focusing on nonuniversity technical education and vocational training programs in Nepal are the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training, Department of Labor and Employment Promotion (DOLEP), Department of Cottage and Small Industry (DCSI) and Cottage and Small Industry Development Board (CSIDB).
